Huangsi village is rich in water resource which sit in northern of Hebei province. Village was surrounded by mountains on three sides, with unique geographical location, is a typical "ShanKouZhen", this environment is conducive to the formation of the spring which provide blessed natural conditions for the spring settlements. This village which is built upon the spring and there is a yuquan temple in it. Due to the excellence of geographic location, this village has an prosperous history and remain a great many buildings whose historical research meaning have been highly valued. The stone bridge, ancient dwellings within the settlement have hundreds of years’ history, the Yuquan temple has thousand which is built in Tang dynasty. During the formation of this village, its morphological characteristics have been affected by spring, formed a unique spring settlement space form and the villagers’ production and living is closely related to the spring. However, with the development of history, this village in Hebei province has gradually got into decline. Ancient buildings can’t meet the needs of modern life, There is huge amount damage of Huangsi village and its ancient buildings which is due to the rebuilding and the destructive protection of this village. The original regional feature of spring settlements are gradually dying. Therefore these days the study, protection and update of the Huangsi village’s specific spatial morphology and the composing mechanism have no delay. The National Science Foundation research project "Protection and Sustainable Development of The Typical Spring Settlements in Northern China". Through to a great deal of research and contrast of spring settlements, screening the villages which is the typical spring settlements to exert research Relying on the great amount of previous of investigation and information collecting, the group study on the spatial morphology feature of the spring settlements and try to figure out the influence factors of the water system during the formation of the spring settlements. Analyze and summarize the composing mechanism of the village spatial morphology, and explore the future protection and update methods of the spring settlements aiming at the current existing problems.First, this article start by analysis the location of the Huangsi village in order to get natural conditions during the formation of spring settlements and the influence factors of the village’s spot selection. Combined with the documents to trace the Huangsi village’s history, analyze the composing morphology of this village, we work on these specific spatial morphology such as spring settlements square layout morphology, water system configuration, landscape composition levels, the Yuquan temple’s influence during the formation of this village, features of the traffic system which affected by the spring, the building layout affected by spring and the spatial joint affected by spring. Trying to summarize the working modes that how the spring system affect the different kinds of spatial morphology. Through interpreting the typical building group space in the village, study on the special spatial morphology which influenced by the spring in order to get the cause and the composing mechanism of the multiple doors yard. Then based on these spatial morphology of this spring settlements which featured so much regionalism, we get to find out the principle and mechanism its formation, in order to instruct the Huangsi village’s update correctly and take the proper protection methods.
