In this paper, based on12.7mm chain gun as the research object, on the development ofchain theory at home and abroad and research achievements were introduced, so as todetermine the direction of the research of this topic and the research scheme of12.7mm chaingun. For infantry fighting vehicles, the design requirements of armed helicopter combatplatform on the loading of large caliber machine guns, the overall layout of the chain gun fora complete design, determine the chain gun automata working cycle diagram.Using classical interior ballistics theory of guns and automatic weapons and gasdynamics theory, established the theoretical model of12.7mm chain gun firing in the processof interior ballistic and aftereffect period is the movement differential equation andprogramming calculation, get the interior ballistic and aftereffect period bore pressure curves,determine the safety locking time chain gun.After determining the overall layout of chain gun, the main mechanism of chain gun(chain transmission device, a locking mechanism, a triggering mechanism, feed mechanism,the ejection mechanism, special links on the sliding drive device, a gear driving device, bufferdevice design, etc.) for each body of work mode selection, design, to chain gun requirements,finally, in the UG software to complete the whole assembly of3D entity model of the chaingun gun.Firstly, on the chain gun automaton movement rule of the theoretical analysis, themotion characteristics of rectangular route from functions at each stage of writing motivationin chain transmission device in the theory of laws of motion function curve, calculated thechain gun automaton, according to the motion law of writing the corresponding IF function asthe driving Motion expression automata theory, using the RecurDyn software simulation thechain gun, verify the correctness of theoretical analysis. The use of special chain module in RecurDyn software to establish the chain sprocketassembly complete, constraint and add the full contact relationship. Then inducts the chaingun automaton model of virtual prototype has been built in UG software, its and chaincomponents for assembly, adding drivers, contact, constraint relationship, completeautomaton simulation analysis model is established.Based on multi body dynamics software RecurDyn, in600rounds/minute,400rounds/minute and200rounds/minute radio frequency of chain gun automaton simulationanalysis is carried out, and the motion characteristic curve of each main structure automatasimulation analysis, the conclusion verified the reliability of chain gun automaton structurerunning in the radio, with a certain reference to the application of the principle of the chain inautomatic weapon.
