New components loaders are automatic devices used for loading and unloading nuclear fuels and play an irreplaceable role in nuclear power production. During the productive process, it is highly demanded on the production security and operation reliability and stability. However, manual operation is hard to meet the demands. And even when automatic equipments are used, the usability and reliability have to be checked. in the paper, Advanced PLC technology had been used to develop and implement the new functions of loaders. To ensure the reliability and stability during the productive process, all-round monitoring is greatly needed. The traditional video-monitoring technology has a certain limitation. so the system would realize an all-round monitoring on components loaders by employing the technology of the Internet of Things.The paper developed a control system and safe production system for new components loaders. The main work are as follows:(1)Developed a control system accurately for new components loaders by using PLC technology which can control precisely on guide post, tongs, loading and unloading process; Designed a convenient and reasonable touch screen control board which is at the operator’s service.(2)Designed a new production safety monitoring system for new components loader by using the technology of the Internet of Things to monitor the productive process, productive surroundings and productive parameters accurately and in real time.(3)Implemented the function of data collection and process of the bottom sensor devices by the technology of embedding coding and wireless communication; Enabled it communicate with the host computer in operation safety monitoring system by distribution devices in the interlayer.(4)Implemented the receiving function for data in distribution layer by VB and web program; Complete the function of comprehensive process, save and feedback on data received and implement the function of data collection, summary and report during the productive process. The system can meet all the need of enterprise informatization.(5)The paper conducted a test on trial run. Adjusted and improved the system from the aspect of productive operation function and operating performance which enabled the system meet the need of fuel components loading and unloading in nuclear power plants. Tested roundly on the operation safety monitoring system and improved the system according to the data received by monitoring system, and finally promoted the function and performance.The system promoted the work efficiency of nuclear power plants, guaranteed the reliability and safety of loading and unloading during the productive process and finally upgraded the intellectualization degree of nuclear power plants production.
