As an emerging discipline in recent years, project management is being widely used in various management. Project progress, project quality and project cost are three important aspects in project management and management of the project progress is very decisive for a successful project.The refrigerator/freezer production line of AUCMA in Minquan County Henan province is a project of production line, which is a new production line invested by AUCMA Group. AUCMA Limited by Share Ltd is a hi-tech company listed by SSE(Shanghai Stock Exchange) in 2000. But with the national policy to stimulate domestic demand, AUCMA Company developed relatively fastand supply and demand contradiction is more conspicuous. Capacity issues has become a bottleneck affecting the company to expand market share. In order to improve the productivity of AUCMA Limited by Share Ltd, AUCMA Company has invested three production lines in Huangdao Park, a refrigerator production line, a refrigerator production lines and a high-end display cabinet, refrigerator production line, and the overall production capacity has been greatly improved. But there is still great gap between the production capacity and the market demand. Therefore, the company decided to launch a new refrigerator/freezer production line in Minquan County, Henan province.As a home appliance company established in the 1980’s, AUCMA Company still lacks systematic management and many management systems still need improved. This paper aims to study the progress of a project management which is being constructed. Firstly, the author makes an introduction to the background and significance of this project and reviews the current situation and development of the project management both at home and abroad. All these will serve as a theoretical support for the research of this paper. Then, it will give a brief introduction to AUCMA Company and its new project in Minquan County. Also the author points out the problems existing in current project management and puts forward some feasible and constructive solutions to them. Then, according to the scope and target of the project, the author will decompose the diagram of the project progress and make a right decomposition diagram by referring to the features as well as the logical relationship of the project. By using analogy method, the author determines the expected progress of the project so as to find the effective path or method of the project. After optimizes the project progress, it will monitor the critical path of the project by using the earned value method. Meanwhile, the unexpected problems will be detected and corrected timely to guarantee the progress of the project can be in line with the requirements of the company.The ultimate goal of this paper is to find an effective way to control the progress of the project through the study of the project progress management of the refrigerator\freezer production line of AUCMA in Minquan County Henan province so as to provide a guide for the project management of AUCMA Company. In this paper, with the critical path determined, through the continuous optimization of the project progress and by using the earned value method to monitor the key point on the project in the process of implementation, the project can be conducted on schedule. This will provide a good example for future project progress management.
