The Design And Implementation Of Pilot Personal Assistant’s Visual Simulation System

Pilot personal assistant (abbreviated to PPA) is a training simulator which is based on the single PC desktop. It is mainly used to help pilots complete some mission training work (weapon operation training, environmental familiarization training, combat training.etc) According to "a certain type of pilot personal assistant technical implementation", this paper designed and realized a visual simulation system which is based on some simulation tools (Creator and Vega Prime). This paper’s elaborations are as follows:This paper introduces the characteristics and applications using by the terra vista, Creator and Vega Prime. According to the requirement of PPA technology, an overall design of visual simulation system completes the implementation including the design of development process as well as the refinement of function module. According to the overall design program, lots of 3D solid models (carrier models, terrain models, airport models, target models) are structured by Creator at first. Then, the visual simulation and realization methods based on Vega Prime are illustrated. Key technology has been explained in accordance with the function modules including data communication, visual control, rudder driving, motion models, environmental effect, along with the method of embedded displaying using by OpenGL code and GLStudio DLL. Finally, the process and results of the joint debugging between visual simulation system and flight simulation are brief introduced.The result shows an accuracy of 3D models, the flying panel and the environmental effect. On account of the interactivity and authenticity, the system can meet the requirements and be applicable to pilot personal assistant’s visual simulation.
