"Construction of new rural community" is the government at all levels in the new development environment for rural development an important policy timely. With the continuous development of urban and rural areas as a whole in our country, the advancement of new rural construction in an orderly way, the new rural community has worked well in the integration of resources, a type becomes important in rural community development. However, due to the accelerating the process of community construction, the original villagers’ sense of belonging in the village and harmonious neighborhood relationship is gradually disappear. In view of the appeared in the new rural community public space \ "urbanization\", the villagers’ public life "recession" wait for a phenomenon, the study of the new rural community public space are imperative.Paper to xi ’an new rural community as the research object, in the original villages, and the new rural community public life and public space based on the analysis of the investigation and research, explore the new rural community public space planning and design strategies, thesis is divided into three parts:First, this paper research on rural public life change, concluded the basic characteristics of the new rural community public life and the demand of public space, the new type of rural community public space from two aspects: the elements and spatial space system theory research; Secondly, based on the traditional villages and five spot investigation, the new rural community to learn the needs of the public space of the villagers, summing up the present situation of rural community public space characteristics, and the existing problems of the new rural community public space, researches in space requirements.
