Research Of Planning And Design In Shanghai Fushou Cemetery Based On The Concept Of Land Saving And Scenic

The Scenic and land saving cemetery is a kind of specific park which is built for people to memorialize. visit and rest. With the increasing number of the aging population and death rate,the cemetery site begins to be insufficient, which will be reflected to the economic, social stability, city image and international reputation of Shanghai. Based on the local policy, we hope this research can help us find a way to plan a cemetery which combines land saving, goodscenery, memorial function and Eco-environmental protection.Through the analysis of the cemeteries at home and abroad, a concept has been formed to build a scenic and land saving cemetery with its own features, target and function. According to the history of Shanghai Fushou Yuan and its present situation, we put forward the problem that the cemetery industry faces now and evaluate and analyze the planning of general tomb area and the innovation of different kind of tomb design, which provide us the theory and method to design a land saving and scenic cemetery.Firstly we’ve found the connections between the landscape architecture and the cemetery design.Then we’ve found the potential problems and goodness through field research, daily practice, evaluation and analysis, which lead to the design of a land saving and scenic cemetery.Through the research and analysis for the domestic and overseas cemeteries, we summarize the concept and characteristic of the Scenic and land saving cemetery, put forward the problems that this kind of cemetery are facing with, and specify the concept of scenic and land saving cemetery with its characteristic,target and function.After analyzing historyof the Fushou Yuan and its present situation, we conclude 3 stages of the cemetery planning, summarize and analyze its structure and function. The problems are how to save more land,explore the social value of the humanity, and enhance the links among neighboring tomb areas.We propose the guiding ideology for planning the Scenic and land saving cemetery,analyze the space usage, public landscape, conclude the transformation of the cemetery and the forms of layout of the tomb area.We think the general cemetery is the key to solve the conflict between land saving and scenery.we use Jin Gui Fang(a tomb area in Fushou Yuan) as an example to analyze its design idea,space usage,key landscape,tomb design.We classify and specify the burial forms,propose the key is one tomb one micro-landscape,research the innovation of tomb design, and analyze the new tomb material and its producing process.
