Influenced by the development of township and the sharp increase of the urban population, traffic demand expands rapidly, resulting in severe traffic jam phenomenon in large cities. Continuous development of urban rail transit has greatly improved the situation of urban population and traffic congestion, and has great significance for speeding up the economic development of cities and regions. However, the urban rail transit project has low information level, great technical difficulties, complex construction environment and dynamic changes of the construction process at present, which brings tremendous pressure in the project schedule management. Sometimes there is a schedule delay, which has a negative affect on the normal life of urban residents.In this paper, schedule management of urban rail transit project based on BIM technology is studied on the basis of the full life cycle management concept of BIM technology. Firstly, schedule management problems of urban rail transit project are analyzed in the traditional management model. According to these problems, the applicability of BIM technology in urban rail transit project schedule management are analyzed, combining five characteristics of BIM technology.Secondly, through a variety of BIM core modeling software comparative analysis, the paper obtains that from the software, Bentley software products are more suited to the field of infrastructure, but its support for our specification is very poor, and the using in the actual project is less at this stage. So the paper choses Autodesk software products who are more mature in the project application as the modeling softwares. Further, technology structure of urban rail transit project based BIM in Navisworks Manage software platform is analyzed, which provides technical support for the urban rail transit project schedule management based on BIM technology.Finally, the application of BIM technology in urban rail transit project schedule management is studied from two aspects of design and construction. The improving of urban rail transit project design process based on BIM technology is obtained by researching the use of BIM technology during urban rail transit project design process. The improving includes optimization design, advanced analysis capabilities and automatic generation of drawing documentation. The paper researches examination of working drawing based on BIM model, the WBS of project based on BIM model, design of construction scheme based on BIM model, working out construction schedule plan based on BIM model. It is beneficial to the pre-construction process simulation, and efficiency schedule management by combining construction schedule plan and BIM models. Then Construction project optimization based on BIM, dynamic management of construction schedule based on BIM, dynamic management of construction site based on BIM, dynamic management of construction resources based on BIM are researched. In summary, process framework of construction schedule management is put forwarded. Contrast flow charts of traditional schedule management and schedule management based on BIM technology is put forwarded by combining traditional schedule management and schedule management based on BIM technology. The improving of urban rail transit project schedule management is obtained by analyzing the application of urban rail transit project design and construction process based on BIM technology.
