With the development of the Chinese urbanization, the city construction will definitely turn to the renewal and reuse of old buildings. Based on the characteristics of the reuse of architectural relics, the space layout redesign is greatly different from the new constructions. So, how to make the architectural relics integrate with the urban life is a hot issue nowadays. Space Syntax is a lately developed theory which is focused on the relationships between spaces, and the relationships between the space configuration and people’s behavior mode.Dahua 1935 is an important project of based on Dahua mills in Xi’an.This project is diffirent from the reuse of architectural remains practice before. It is controlled by the government, and planned professionally. So, taking Dahua1935 as the Object of my object of research ispractically meaningful.Space Syntax is a theory used to analyze the deep instruction of space system, including urban space, area space and Architecture space. The theory is focuse on the relationships between spaces. At first, this study proves that Space Syntax is effective on the space layout renewal of industrial Architecture remains issues, then takes Dahua 1935 as an example, from the view of macro and micro, concerning the layout of architectural relics reusing, and carries out the relativity analyses between the layout and people’s behaviors. Through all the studies above, we will know whether the redesign successfully fulfill the designer’s intentions. Based on the results, we can bring out some optmised suggestion. Furthermore, the potential of space Syntax’s other applications is discussed as well.
