Suspen-dome is a kind of prestressed hybrid structure, consisting of an upper single-layer lattice shell and a lower cable-strut system. Due to its better overall stability performance, and relatively easier construction, suspen-dome has a very extensive application prospects. A new kind of suspen-dome, Suspended by rectangular cable, is presented and there were no comprehensively research on this kind of suspen-dome in our country. In order to promote more extensive application, systematical research of this structure were presented from the aspects of static, stability and construction.Based on reading many literatures, developmental history and present situation of suspen-dome are described, and project applications are introduced in this thesis. The new kind of suspen-dome was simulated by ANSYS software with Ansys Parameter Design Language. Before analyse, we should design prestress by the rigid cable method and carry out force finding of structure.Through a lot of parameter analysis, such as rise-span ratios, boundary conditions and prestress, performance of the new suspen-dome was deeply researched and summarized. The initial geometric imperfection and nonlinear of geometrical was considered in nonlinear buckling. Construction process was simulated in the end with a method named inverse analysis of construction process.The research indicated that the new kind of suspen-dome has fine performances in loading capacity, stiffness and stability. And it is suitable for engineering application as its tension process is relatively simple and convenient.
