The function of excavator is more and more obvious along with the rapid economic development and the scale infrastructure expansion. The excavator failure occurred frequently owing to the bad working environment. Therefore, it is quite necessary to monitor the excavator working state in order to ensure it working safe and reliable.The domestic hydraulic excavator remote monitoring system mainly uses the monolithic acquisition engine and hydraulic system parameters, but to arm and stem work device parameters have not involved.In addition, based on SCM, the remote monitoring system can only realize a few functions of data processing, which can not collect data for further professional analysis.Based on the above-mentioned problems, this paper developed a remote monitoring system for operation parameters of hydraulic excavator, which can realize the analysis of the working device. The system is installed in a newly developed hydraulic excavator, and working parameters state of excavator is collected by the data acquisition equipment. Parameters are sent to the monitoring center by data transmission equipment, and achieve real-time monitoring for the operating status of the hydraulic excavator. The excavator failure can be found out as early as possible. The system is mainly used for development of new products, which has an obvious role to enhance the economic and social benefits.In this paper, the remote monitoring system for operation parameters of hydraulic excavators mainly includes data acquisition systems, data transmission systems, data processing and display system. Data acquisition system uses the IMC data acquisition to control excavator working site, selecting the engine, hydraulic system and working device major signal parameters as the monitoring object by analysis of the working parameters of the hydraulic excavator and considering the means and conditions of the data monitoring. The data transmission system achieved with GPRS DTU devices is mainly based on the GPRS data packet radio technology. Data processing and display system is the terminal system of monitoring system. Monitoring parameters is friendly displayed by LabVIEW platform. FAMOS software is mainly used for the boom and stick. Finally, a test is made for the system. The result is favorable and basically meets the design functional requirements.
