In recent years, excavator sales keep reaching new high and breaking records, driven by aggregate effect from Chinese government's various policies in increasing infrastructure investment, advancing urbanization construction and so on. Mania in excavator market and increasing expense on excavators promote the output and push forward its rapid and specialized development at the meantime. However, considering the high unit price of engineering machinery, now installment payments take priority in sales, and some companies even have launched excavator renting business, and that have brought a series of problems on payments and management. For example, borrowers do not return machinery on time, buyers make deferred payments, after-sales repairing are hard to carry out and so on. Hence it is a developing trend of engineering manufacturing industry to combine traditional engineering machinery and electronic devices together.This passage investigating on small hydraulic excavators, and the author designs a set of remote supervision system, mainly include following functions: Collecting front-end working state parameters, like engine temperature, oil level, hydraulic oil pressure and operate time through main MCU; Acquiring excavator geographic position by GPS orientation module; Transmitting acquired information to remote server and mobile phones through GPRS module for instant supervision and after-sale management. The author designs the circuit and program for GPS and GPRS modules in this passage, and selects proper transducer for collecting working parameters modules.Through a remote server, excavator working state parameters as well as geographic location information are real-time displayed in monitoring center, whose software is developed by Visual Studio 2008, and based on programming TCP / IP protocol Socket interface. Data are transmitted from acquisition front-end module to a remote server through GPRS module and displayed in real time via the master computer. When the excavator working state parameters change suddenly or surpass the normal working state, staff in monitoring end will be able to send text messages to inform front-end staff or the owner an alarm to ensure that excavators can be examined and repaired immediately by the after-sale department. When it is required to monitor excavator working state, staff can also send relevant instruction messages via mobile phones to the acquisition front-end GPRS module to collect its instant information.
