Research On Project Client Claims Management System

Presently, with the development of marketization and internationalization in domestic construction market, claim management becomes more and more important in project management. At the same time as construction companies increasingly fierce competition, companies have begun to explore the building to survive its various measures, one important measure is the construction claims management companies. By contrast with rich claim experience of contractors, the clients’claim management is at a lower level, in a need to be improved.This thesis concerns how to strengthen the client claims management, presenting the framework of client management, including client claims, claims prevention, client counterclaims and dispute treatment, based on which the working system of client claims management is proposed.Client claims and claims prevention initiative which is based on two pieces of content on the actual investigation unfolded. First, the author on the basis of theoretical analysis, in the form of a questionnaire directly confirm the client claims management seriously lagging behind in construction enterprises in real time.Besides, the fact is confirmed through investigation that clients are much more insufficient than contractor in terms of claims management. In the chapter of Clients Claims, identification of claims opportunity and time delay are discussed emphatically. In the chapter of Client Prevention, some measures are put forward to preventing contractor claims during different project stages. Secondly, this research proposes the principle, procedure and content of client counterclaim, which is an effective method to minimize the client’s loss. Finally, this paper demonstrates the establishment of the working system of client claims management, consisting of working organization and working system.
