As the main light source, automobile light play a very important role in traffic safety. The luminous intensity, current and voltage are needed to be tested to guarantee the quality of the automobile light in this paper. With the rapid development of automotive electronic technology, CAN and LIN bus protocol have been widely used in the network of vehicle and the work of lamps is controlled by bus, so the lamps’ communication interface should be detected to ensure that lamps can communicate with electronic control unit. So it is very urgent to test lamps before lamps are out of the factory.The automatic test system about lamps with the LAN, USB and RS232 interface are set up in this thesis, which is based on the test requirements of vehicle lights and combined with design concepts of the automatic test system. The system can test the whole lights of one company, the main function of the software include man-management, instrument self-test, default parameters configuration, lamp photoelectric parameters and bus communication interface testing and data processing. The security of the software can be ensured by Man-management, a user can be added, deleted and modified in this function; The communication between master computer and instruments can be realized by Instrument self-test to read information about instruments and judge the state of the connection and self-test; The default parameter of instruments can be configured by Default parameter configuration to make sure that instruments can be used correctly according to the test item; Lamp photoelectric parameters and bus communication interface testing mainly include the test of inputting voltage, inputting const current, inputting surge current, combinational logic and CAN and LIN communication interface; Test data can be saved to mysql database and generated test report automatically based on user templates, entry test and test results by Data processing.The whole lamp is the test object of this system, all of the test procedures for each test object composed of a test case, we can call profile test case directly to test the lights automatically when starting test. Firstly according to the testing requirements analysis,technical parameters of the lamps are confirmed, CAN and LIN bus protocol are introduced, the overall scheme of the test system is proposed, system architecture and software design scheme are determined. Then, the software test process is discussed and carried on analysis and the relevant test functionality of the software is verified. Finally, the work of this system was summarized and prospected at the end of the paper.
