In our country, there is still no relatively perfect urban energy planning system, which leads to the energy planning is out of line with the urban master plan and the poor coordination between departments. What is more, each department will compete with each other.Based on the above situation, some experts have put forward the theory of urban energy comprehensive planning based on dynamic and spatial distribution. The theory gives consideration to the mutual coordination of each special energy planning and dynamic characteristics based on time and space, so as to achieve the rational allocation and efficient use of energy. However, the architectural parameters that can be provided at the urban planning stage are limited, and the statistical data of building energy consumption is still lacking. They directly lead to the situation that the conventional load forecasting method is difficult to be applied in the work of urban energy planning. As the regional planning is the foundation of urban planning, and the urban planning provides a general direction and general policy for the planning of the regional planning, doing a good job of regional energy planning is the key to realize the total urban energy planning policy. As the regional building energy planning is the basis of regional energy conservation, and The Loading Prediction in Buildings is the foundation of building energy planning, if we can do a good job in the building load forecasting or not, it will fundamentally affect the optimal management and rational allocation of energy. In this paper, building load forecasting methods for regional planning stage are discussed based on theoretical analysis, software simulation, and comparative analysis. First, structures in the area are classified. Second, according to relative specifications, design handbook and the energy-saving standard, the article constructs the standard building information model of each type of building. Third, Taking a comprehensive building in Zhengzhou area as an example, the paper uses BIM software to model the standard architecture of this type of building. Then, the paper chooses the Energy Plus software to analyze the energy consumption of the model. At last, the paper uses the load index method and cooling load factors methods to predict the same case, and the paper uses them to compare with the method used in this paper to verify the feasibility of the results of this study. The final results show that the prediction relative error of building load index is less than 10% meeting the requirement of accuracy in engineering field. By comparing the simulation results of the cold load coefficient method and the Plus Energy load forecast simulation method, the final results show that the predicted results have the same dynamic characteristics and the prediction error is less than 20%. By comparing the above two parts this paper proves the feasibility of using BIM and Energy Plus software load forecasting method.
