With the rapid development of China economy and civil aviation, more and more passengers choose air travelling as their major option. More requirements about civil aviation safety. on schedule and high quality service are needed to be satisfied for passengers besides low price, which results in new goal and pursuit of civil aviation maintenance industry, especially for maintenance organization attached to airlines that take on more pressure and challenge.Airlines maintenance departments face bottle neck as the aircraft fleets, employed person, multiple operation bases increase rapidly, in which control system play critical part in resources management and deployment. Lean management thinking has been widely used and developed in all walks of life since it was first proposed, especially in traditional manufacturing industry. Lean management thinking emphasizes on waste elimination, efficiency enhancement and demand pull. By using the idea of lean management thinking, civil aviation industry could be improved and upgraded, even though it makes differences with traditional industry. The thesis mainly discusses line maintenance of civil aviation maintenance and launches the analysis and research focus on control system of civil aviation maintenance. The thesis takes S Airlines as its object of study and does the research to optimize the maintenance control system of S Airlines. At first, the thesis does the research of the present situation of the maintenance control system and put forward the existing problems regarding cost control, efficiency improvement and safety assurance. Then, the thesis sets up the design and goal of the maintenance control system optimization program by using the idea of lean management. Finally, the thesis verifies the effectiveness of the optimization program by using the company’s operation data. Based on the premise that the safety of the maintenance system is guaranteed, the thesis aims to use reasonable maintenance cost to achieve the maximum availability for the Airlines through the study of maintenance department’s decision management, site management, spare parts inventory cost management and process restructuring. The thesis aims to provide some suggestions for the continuous optimization of Airlines’ maintenance control system.
