Green building is the important content to transform the mode of economic development, therefore to study the green building technology of public building is necessary. This paper focuses on wind environmental technologies of green building. The main contents include the following parts:1. Prevailing wind direction and average wind velocity are determined. Employing the meteorological data in typical years from "China building thermal environment analysis specific meteorological data set" (1971-2003) and those from Hefei Meteorological Bureau (2001-2010), the average wind velocity and prevailing wind direction are determined based on the definition of prevailing wind direction. The results show that, compared with the previous one, prevailing wind directions in summer, winter and their transition period have been shifted 45°,0° and 45° in counterclockwise, and the corresponding average wind velocities have also been reduced 36.9%,10.4% and 23.3%.2. Outdoor wind environment assessment. Outdoor wind environment of one public building before and after it is built is simulated in winter, summer and their transition period of typical years in 1971-2003 and 2001-2010. Wind velocity and pressure are used as assessment factors of the comfort at pedestrian passageways outside the building. Analysis shows that, after the project is completed, the building has a minor effect on the wind environment in summer, winter and their transition period. Moreover, the wind velocity at z=1.5m is within the range of 5m/s in the surrounding pedestrian streets, which satisfies the pedestrian comfort needs.3. Indoor air environment assessment. The wind pressure at z=39m on the building surface from outdoor wind environment simulation in summer is used as the boundary condition, and wind velocity and air age are employed as the assessment factors. The indoor wind environment of an office building in Hefei is simulated. It is found that, when the windows and internal doors are all opened, the indoor air residence time is normally less than 900s even though the indoor wind velocity is small or zero. If the four times per hour is basically kept for ventilation, the indoor air is nearly fresh. Lastly, employing the wind velocity and air age as assessment factors, the indoor air age is simulated with varying external window open rate, and moreover the indoor wind velocity and air age are also simulated with varying building surface pressure deficit. It is found that the external window opening rate can significantly affect indoor air age change. The building surface pressure deficit has an evident effect on the indoor wind velocity, but no significant effect on air age.
