With the development of power industry, more and more nonlinear load and distributed energy connect to grid. In order to understand the impact of nonlinear load and new energy power, power quality of grid need to be assessed, which can be reliable basis for load management and strategy formulation.According to power quality characteristics of nonlinear loads, this paper focuses on the five typical non-linear loads, including large industrial equipment, electrified railway, frequency conversion equipment, wind farms and some commercial electric load. The impact indicators of non-linear load access to grid should be assessed and measurement needs to be take corresponding evaluation results. It lays the foundation of the security management for the power supply system with nonlinear load.In the technical aspect, according to the test data from the running users, the power quality evaluation report need to be calibrated and evaluated. At the same time, in order to establish database of equipment, which provides a reference for the designers, different types of power quality control equipment need to be tested.According to the management process of nonlinear load access grid, enterprise should optimize the management mode, select the appropriate node to pre-intervene the scheduled management, and effectively protect the operation of the power grid safely, for the purpose of putting forward recommended control measures on different types of nonlinear load.
