The national economic development entered the new normal and the construction industry is one of the pillar industries of the national economy, it is urgent for the construction industry to get rid of “high output, low efficiency”, the traditional development model, high output, low efficiency, to improve the overall competitiveness of the industry, to ensure the industry rejuvenated. Meanwhile, the social demand for large-span steel structure becomes wider and wider, steel structure engineering is a typical industry that intersects the manufacturing industry with construction industry, which can relatively easy the implement information technology and industrialization. Building Information Modeling is a new mode of production, since being promoted, its great value proposition has promoted the concept of change in the industry, which also has brought the greater innovation in productivity of the construction industry.The main contents were as follows:Collect the representative definition of the industry, extract the overall concept and the definition of BIM. Summarize the technical characteristics of BIM, with the implementation of classification of BIM software, and introduce the main software, focusing on the basis that this essay achieved- Industry Foundation Classes.From the concept and characteristics of large span steel structure, it points out large-span steel structure construction status quo and problems, focusing on the applicability of the environment, economy, and technology on the basis of the large span steel construction, to confirm its practical application value.Regard the ZK project as a case study, using Tekla Structures to create its steel structure BIM model, completing detailing design, drawings, inspection and control of the steel structure; after completing the integration of civil engineering model and mechanical model, through Navisworks achieve inter-professional and professional in the collision detection; The rapid computation of engineering quantity and comparison with its traditional way of cost confirmed that the BIM have great advantage in the aspect of computation of engineering; achieve an exquisite management in the division of the quantity of work, and the transportation management; for enhancing the overall scheme ZK project adopted involved upgrading ideas and processes, make full use of the advantages of BIM technology, visualization and simulation, to simulate the promoting process. In terms with the ideas and procedures of the overall scheme that the project adopted, the efficiency of technical tests was enhanced because of the simulation of its block assembling; by definition of the set as a whole and from the reverse starting to effectively solve the problem of animation of complex models.Compared with the traditional construction scheduling, we indicated the advantages of application in the process of construction scheduling management in combination with the technology of BIM which transformed the 3D model into the 4D model through adding time to the former. Create mode 4D model and propose implementation specific processes, tools used in the creation process. ZK project still works as a case, creating its construction schedule 4D model, a detailed description of its creation, and finally confirm the specific application model: track construction schedule, construction schedule analysis and adjustment, correction and schedule adjustments.
