Telescopic-damper is one of the most complicated parts in suspension system and plays an important role in vehicles. The characteristic simulation has the significance for the design of telescopic-damper. With the characteristic simulation, the flaws of design could be found and modified in time, so the design and develop could speed up, while also the test costs could be reduced.Traditional, most of necessary parameters used in the modeling of characteristic are obtained through the experiment tests, therefore, it is hard to establish the accurate simulation model, the simulation results are also not reliable, so the traditional method can’t keep pace with the rapid development of vehicle.The thesis studied the simulation model and method of telescopic-damper as well as simulation software development, the specific studies are as follows:(1) According to the elasticity theory, the deformation on non-uniform pressure was studied, the deformation analytic formula of throttle slice was established, and based on the relation of deformation and stress, the stress analytic formula on non-uniform pressure was established;(2) Based on the telescopic-damper oil path model at pre and post valve opening and the analytic formula of valve deformation on non-uniform pressure, the mathematic model of velocity points at which the throttle-valve opens firstly and lastly were built;(3) According to the relations of telescopic-damper velocity with flux, pressure and deformation, and the velocity points, the piecewise mathematic model of characteristic simulation was built;(4) By the characteristic simulation model and Visual Basic 6.0, the simulation software was developed.The performance test of simulated telescopic-damper with the software and characteristic experiment were carried out. The results show that the simulation model of telescopic-damper characteristic is effective and the simulation software is credible. It has very important value on theoretical research and practical application to telescopic-damper design.
