Weinan is the east entrance of Guanzhong Plain in Shaanxi province. It is also a major part of east line of Guanzhong sightseeing in Shaanxi. Huashan Mountain is a famous view spot in Weinan, which also is one of early developed view spot in Weinan. Huashan is also one of name cards of Shaanxi tourism industry. Weinan natural tourism resources are high grade and widely distributed. In recently years, led by the Huashan’s tourism rapidly development, tourists and tourism revenue in Weinan growth rapidly year to year. Tourism industry plays more important role in Weinan’s economic and social development. Now Weinan has decided that the tourism industry is one of strategic pillar industries. So it’s very necessary to research the trend of Weinan tourism industry development. Through the research, it will supply some advises to Weinan tourism industry development.Butler’s Tourism Area Life Cycle theory is a basic tool to analyze tourism area’s development process. He thinks that the tourism area is a living individual. The life cycle includes six stages of life:exploration, participation, development, stability, arrest and recovery. Each stage has its obvious characteristic features. According to this theory, we can intuitively determine the development stage of the tourism destination, and judge the tourism product structure reasonable or not. We also can forecast the future development of the tourism destination.With the tourism life cycle theory, we quantitatively analyzed Huashan is the major brand of Weinan tourism. Huashan tourism area life cycle and conclude that Huashan is in the stability stage. The main tourism product of Huashan is sightseeing product. In recent years Huashan began to develop some type of holiday, special type and event tourism products. The evolution of tourism product structure in Huashan mainly focuses on more attention of soft environment construction. According to the research, there are several factors that restrict the optimization of Huashan tourism product structure. It mainly includes limited resources input, small capacity, the main tourist area difficulty to entrance and similar destination competition. So we need to adjust the structure of tourism products in Huashan by product restructuring and transformation to keep Huashan stability life cycle stage.Based on the theory, I concluded that Weinan tourism area is in rapid growth stage. While Weinan tourism product structure is too simple and at a low level at presently, this can’t match the development stage. So Weinan tourism product should to be promoted to a high level, and develop the leisure, recreation, ecological and special type tourism products. We also advise that Weinan need to play the role of regional integration of culture and tourism, and to promote the development of Yellow river Golden Triangle regional tourism integration. Finally we set up the tourism develop demand model of Weinan and forecast the tourism demand of Weinan in the future.
