Urbanization is the natural historical process ofnon-agricultural industries and rural population concentrate tourban, and it is an important symbol of national modernization.Since the reform and opening up, the urbanization has developedrapidly, the urban population has increased dramatically and thequality of urban system and urbanization has also been furtherimproved. The large-scale population migration accompanieswith the rapid advance of industrialization. The establishment ofmarket economy system relaxed the registration of the householdsystem which has constrained people’s migration. The economicdevelopment in eastern regions led to people migrating fromcentral and western regions to the eastern and formed large scaleof population floating. The large scale of the population floatingnot only met the demand for cheap labor in eastern but alsogreatly contributed to China’s urbanization process. Therefore,the research on inter provincial migration have great significanceto urbanization.The provincial population migration is different fromprovince to province and the industrial base also varies and thedifferent migration caused different effects on urbanization. Inorder to analyze the different effects, in this paper, we divided31provinces in China into three types, then select a typical provincefrom each type and then conduct research on the relationshipamong the industrial base, provincial population migration and urbanization in the typical provinces. Finally, we draw someconclusions on this.This paper is divided into seven parts. The first part is theintroduction, it describes the background and significance of thestudy and summarized related theories; the second partintroduces the relevant theoretical basis; the third part brieflydiscusses the basic situation of China’s population migration; thefourth part discusses the inter provincial migration status, divides31provinces in China into three types according to the differentinter provincial migration and detailed analysis of the populationmigration in the different types of provinces; the fifth partanalyzes reasons of population migration and economic factorsare attributed as the main reason, especially the differences ofindustrial development; the sixth part is taking GuangdongProvince, Henan province and Liaoning province as examples inthree types, analyzes the industrial development, populationmigration and urbanization in detail, analyzes the industrial baseof the population migration and urbanization and proposesvarious suggestions to the different on urbanization; the seventhpart summarizes the whole paper.In this paper, after analyzing and demonstrating, we haveachieved desired results and drawn the following conclusion: thehealthily development of urbanization needs the support ofindustry and the population floating status is determined by theeconomic development. There was a significant difference inindustrial base among Guangdong, Henan and Liaoning provinces, the provincial population migration status is alsodifferent and the problems they are facing also vary andtherefore the policies should be taken to promote the healthilydevelopment of urbanization should also be differentiated.
