Aero-engine assembly, which not only has great workload and collaborative difficulties, but also has many difficulties to achieve adequate quality, plays an important role in Aero-engine manufacture. Improvements of the technologies in Aero-engine assembly becomes to a pivotal problem in Aero-engine design and manufacture. Virtual assembly is a rising aspect of digital design and manufacture. It plays an important role in improvements of the technologies in Aero-engine assembly, shortening the production cycle and enhancing the product quality. So it is of great significance in the Aero-engine design and manufacture. The technologies of virtual assembly is studied in this paper. The virtual assembly process of the Aero-engine rotor is discussed in detail, according to some special particularities in Aero-engine assembly. The main research issues are as follow:First, giving a study in theorems of virtual assembly and the key techniques in the virtual assembly environment, some valuable conclusions are drawn. It proposed tdelaminating assembly sequence cut-set method basing on strueture of the former assembly sequence planning.Second, this paper proposes that the Aero-engine rotor assembly sequence is solved by the hierarchal cut-set method. The assembly relation tree and the connection relation graph are divided by hierarchy firstly. Then the assembly level and-or graph is solved by the cut-set method. The hierarchal assembly sequence is calculated. Adopting the hierarchal cut-set method reduces the assembly sequence number. Thereby the method solves the assembly sequence explosion problem caused by high calculation complexity.Third, the virtual assembly process of the Aero-engine rotor is achieved in DELMIA. In the beginning, on the assumption of the reversibility of assembly and disassembly, assembly sequence is optimized through applying the disassembly method. Then, the DPM module realizes the three-dimensional dynamic simulation and synchronously carries out the interference detection.This paper takes a Aero-engine rotor as the research object, and ultimately obtains a reasonable Aero-engine rotor assembly sequence. The guidance of Aero-engine rotor assembly simulation video was generated. It has a guiding significance to the improvement of aero-engine rotor assembly process.
