In this thesis, Gladiolus hybridus Hort cut flowers (category’Pink’) were choosing for the experiments, which mainly studied the preservative effect of solutions containing KT and that with sucrose and 6-BA as well. In addtion, the tests has investigated senescence mechanism of Gladiolus hybridus cut flowers. This essay was held from 3 aspects and the main results were shown as follows:1、From a series of concentrations (0,10,30,50,70,100 mg·L-1) KT, screen the one which could reveal the best preservative effect of cut flowers. The best concentration of KT was 30 mg·L-1, through the determination of some observing indicators.2、The effect of solutions with KT on fresh freservation of Gladiolus hybridus Hort cut Flowers. The experiments were designed as:Treament 1 was 30 mg·L-1 KT; Treament 2 was 3% S; Treament was 3% S+30 mg·L-1KT. The results were:solutions with KT could definitely improve moisture balance in cut flowers, extend the vase-holding life, increase the activity of POD, SOD, CAT, delay the increase of MDA and increase soluble protein contents. Besides, solutions including KT and sucose was able to raise fresh weight and contents of anthocyanin, improve ornamental value, postpone the time to reach the maximum fresh weight and increas the top ornamental value in cut flowers, which has manifested the better effects.3、The effect of Gladiolus hybridus Hort cut flowers pretreated with KT solution and that cultured in different vase solutions on fresh preservation. The results revealed that KT pretreatment could prolong the vase-holding life effectively, increase fresh weight and flowering rate, improve moisture balance, enhance activity of POD, SOD, CAT, and delay the decrease of soluble protein contents and restrain the increase of MDA contents, keep contents of anthocyanin and maintain the stability of cell membrane. The fresh preservation effect of cut flowers pretreated with KT and cultured in vase solution with sucrose and 6-BA was the best among all of the treatments.
