| Ligustrum lucidum fruits is the dried ripe fruit of Oleaceae Ligustrum lucidum, the tonic herbs of the genus. Ligustrum lucidum fruits are rich in various nutrients andbiological active substances, which have multiple functions, such as antitumor, protecting liver, regulate immune function, clinical applications is of great progress. Inthis experiment, Ligustrum lucidum fruits extracts are added to the diet, in order toevaluate the effects of Ligustrum lucidum fruits extracts on productive performanceand immune function of layer after laying peak period. This trial was conducted to evaluate the effects of Ligustrum lucidum fruitsextracts on productive performance and immune function of layer after laying peakperiod. A total of18047-weeks Hyline brown hens were randomly allotted to4groupswith3replicates per group and15birds per replicate in a single-factor completelyrandomized experimental design. Laying rates in each group show no significantdifference, The control group were fed a basal diet, the experimental groups I, II andIII were fed the basal diet supplemented with0.05%,0.10%and0.15%Ligustrumlucidum fruits extracts, respectively. The average egg weight, rate of broken or softegg, daily egg production, Laying rates, feed/egg and average daily feed intake werecalculated according to the egg production, numbers of broken or soft egg and feedintake of layer in each replicate during the experimental period, which were recordedeveryday. Choose three hens randomly from each replicate on days15and30, collectthe blood from vein under wings, then measure the contents of testosterone (T),progesterone (P), estradiol (E2), immunoglobulins (IgM, IgA) and interleukin-2(IL-2).The results showed as follows: compared with the control group, the daily eggproduction of layer in experimental groups I, II and III was significantly increased by4.9%(P<0.01),10.7%(P<0.01),7.1%(P<0.01), respectively, Laying rate was significantly increased by4.9%(P<0.01),10.5%(P<0.01),5.8%(P<0.01),respectively, the feed/egg in experimental groups III was significantly decreased by10.9%(P<0.01), respectively, but the average egg weight and rate of broken or softegg did not significantly change (P>0.05); the content of testosterone in threeexperimental groups was decreased compared with the control group, and thetestosterone in experimental groups II, III was significantly decreased (P<0.01), thecontents of progesterone, estradiol, immunoglobulins (IgM, IgA) and interleukin-2(IL-2) in three experimental groups were all significantly increased respectivelycompared with the control group (P<0.01).In conclusion, supplement the Ligustrum lucidum fruits extracts in the basal dietcould significantly increase the productive performance and immune function of layerafter laying peak period. |
