Plots set up in Huang Jing GAP base of Buchang Pharma, in Lveyang, Hanzhong city,Shaanxi Province, studied on Huang Jing fruits and seeds maturation dynamics, thedifferences of Polygonatum sibiricum red. fruits and seeds under different habitats, weightdifference’s effects on Polygonatum sibiricum red. seed germination, the differences ongermination between seeds with yellow and green seed coat, the effect of ON donor SNP andethylene donor ETH on seed germination. The results show that:1. from early September to early November, with the harvest delayed, the fruit maturitygradually increased, the remaining fruits gradually reduced, and the best harvest time is earlyOctober, considering the seed quality and the amount of fruits;2. Field, forest and wild fruits and seeds showed a greater difference in some areas andtend to be similar in some other areas, considering all the aspects, field Polygonatumsibiricum red. has the best seed quality,as its higher weight and seed volume than those ofwild’s and forest’s;3. Quality differences of Polygonatum sibiricum red. seeds can affect the germinationrate, the primary root length and size of the globular structures, especially the size of theglobular structures, the heavier seeds have the bigger globular structure;4. Seeds with green coat were hard to germinate, so it’s better to choose yellow seeds tocultivate;5. The results of seed treatment with SNP and ETH showed that, in the range ofexperimental treatments,500mg·L-1SNP for24hours is the best, the germination rate,germination potential, germination index, vitality index were60%,51.7%,0.39and2.34,there was a extremely significant difference compared with the control group32.2%,27.8%,0.26and1.3;300mg·L-1ETH for24hours is the best, the germination rate, germinationpotential, germination index, vitality index were78.9%,50%,0.78and6.16, there was aextremely significant difference compared with the control group32.2%,27.8%,0.26and1.3.The results showed that NO and ethylene can both break seed dormancy and promote seedgermination, and ethylene was more effective.
