Corn harvesters are developing rapid in recent years. They are widely promoted. But, their development time is relatively short. In practical application, there are a series of problems such as high corn loss and hign grain breakage rate. Biting wounds caused by the snapping device to the corns is the main reason for the high corn loss. This paper makes a study and anlysis to the snapping mechanism. We find that the round top lies in the spiral ribs of snapping roll and the base circle lies in the snapping roll impact with the corns in turn. It is the main cause for the hign corn loss. So, build a new snapping roll. It must guarantee the snapping rolls have enough capability to pull the corn stover. And they can minimize the biting as much as possible. At last, we make verification by the ADAMS.First, make an introduction of the development status of corn harvester at home and abroad. There are several different snapping patterns. They are vertical horizontal roll snapping device, Recument roll snapping device, Recument style snapping device.Second, make an introduction of the theoretical foundation of corn snapping process. We emphasis the working principle of roll snapping device. Anlysising under which conditions it can pull up the stalk, it does not pull up the corn, and it snaps the ear shank. Analysising the reason it bites the corns. And put forward the solution to the biting problem.Third, analysising the forces and moments in the process the snapping roll removal the corns. We calculate the total power during the snapping process. And we point the effect of the corresponding parameters.Fourth, we select the parameters of the snapping roll, including diameter, speed, angle of dip and surface structure.Fifth, we build the model, importing it to the ADAMS. So we can conduct the simulation. Analysising the forces of the snapping process.
