Pig industry rely on long-term antibiotics to control the weaning stress syndrome, but antibiotics may cause intestinal microbial flora, impaired development of intestinal and other hazards in piglets. Compared with antibiotics, extracts as feed additives herbal can effectively improve the intestinal microbial flora of weaned pig and promote the development of Small Intestine, thus effectively reduce the rate of diarrhea, reduce weaning stress response, and improve immunity in piglets. Emei Hemsleya for better treatment of diarrhea, but research on pig production has not been reported. Therefore, this study explored the role of Emei Hemsleya as feed additives for weaning stress syndrome. Because of the Emei Hemsleya taste very bitter, directly added in the feed will affect the palatability of piglets, therefore prepared into pellets. Meanwhile, the experimental researched the impact of Emei Hemsleya on immune function, blood biochemical indicators and antioxidant capacity in weaned piglets. The Results are as follows:(1) The preparation of Emei Hemsleya pellets:by extrusion-spheronization and fluid bed coating technology:L9 (34) orthogonal design was used to obtain optimal process conditions of Emei Hemsleya pellets by extrusion-spheronization technology. MCC as the main excipient, spheronization velocity being 400 r/min; spheronization time being 30 second, extrusion velocity being 40 r/min. The obtained pellets were round, smooth and even, with excellent quality.(2) Effects of Emei Hemsleya pellets on immune function in weaned piglets: Compared with antibiotics group, adding 0.025%Emei Hemsleya pellets can significantly promote the serum immunoglobulin IgG, IgM and IgA (P<0.05), producing of C3, C4 and cytokine the secretion of IL-6 (P< 0.05), and significantly reduce the content of the cytokine IL-1β. Especially can significantly improve the duodenum, ileum, cecum of immunoglobulin SlgA secretion(P<0.05). The results showed that:Adding 0.025% Emei Hemsleya pellets to diets of weaned piglets could enhance their immune function.(3) Effects of Emei Hemsleya pellets on the serum biochemical indicators and antioxidant capacity in weaned piglets:Compared with antibiotics group, adding 0.025% Emei Hemsleya pellets can significantly improve the weaned piglets protein in the TP、 ALB、GLB levels (P< 0.05), and significant differences were found in the third week, rather than in the first two weeks. The results showed that:Adding 0.025% Emei Hemsleya pellets to diets of weaned piglets could improve the weaned piglets serum biochemical indicators.(4) Effects of Emei Hemsleya pellets on the antioxidant capacity in weaned piglets: 0.025%,0.05% Emei Hemsleya pellets enhanced the SOD activity significantly, enhanced the GSH activity to some extent significantly, reduced the MDA concentration and significantly decreased urea nitrogen concentration. The results showed that:Adding 0.025% Emei Hemsleya pellets to diets of weaned piglets could enhance the antioxidant capacity.
