As the main grain crop in our country, rice and it’s production have extremely important status in the national economy. Rice plantation mechanization, an important part of comprehensively realizing rice production mechanization, can not only save labour effectively but also improve rice yield significantly. Compared with the developed countries, our country’s Rice plantation mechanization level is backward. Therefore, developing the new high-speed transplanter industry has important significance for improving our country’s agricultural mechanization as well as the comprehensive national strength.As a core part of rice transplanter, transplanting mechanism’s performance affects the quality of planting and the work efficiency directly, which determains the transplanter’s developing level and industry competitiveness. Based on reading literature and theory research, this letter designed a double eccentric oval-gear planetary transplanting mechanism under the background of the high-speed rice transplanter’s research project of Changzhou Dongfeng Agricultural Machinery Group. The main research contents and results are as follows.(1) On the basis of knowing the current research status of rice transplanter mechanism and the structure characteristics of the related transplanter mechanism fully in domestic and overseas, double eccentric oval-gear used as the transmission components of transplanter mechanism was proposed.(2) The mathematical model of gears was optimized by using MATLAB software and related numerical algorithm, then the structure of gears was designed. The working principle of transplanter mechanism was discussed by introducing the transplanting rotation box and seeding-pushing device.(3) Aiming at the problem of planting trajectory of transplanter mechanism, the kinematics model of transplanter mechanism was built and the motion law of middle and planet gear which related to planet carrier was analyzed. At the same time, the initial installation angle of planet carrier and the theory trajectory of seeding needle were optimized. In the end, the equations and curves of relative displacement, relative velocity and relative acceleration of some key points were presented.(4) 3D model of transplanting mechanism was built by using SolidWorks software. Based on the theory of kinematics analysis, the virtual prototype of transplanting mechanism was built by using ADAMS, which was used to simulate. Analyzed the simulation results from the aspects of seeding needle trajectory, seeding needle sharp point velocity, agronomic, et al, and compared with the theoretical calculation results, the correctness of kinematics theory analysis and the feasibility of transplanter mechanism design were verifed.(5) Transplanting transmission box’s vibration may affect the trajectory of seeding needle, and seeding-pushing device may affect the quality of planting. For the upon situations, the modal analysis of transplanting transmission box and flexibility dynamics simulation analysis of seeding-pushing device were carried out respectively. The results showd that transplanting transmission box which material was cast aluminium could not vibrate and fork which material was 45# steel met the requirements of strength in normal conditions.
