This report is based on the author’s interpreting practice of President Obama’s address at67th UN General Assembly as simultaneous interpreting material with text. The reportincludes five sections, task description, procedure description, preparations before the task,case analysis and the summary. Task description and procedure description are the overallintroduction to this task. Preparations before the task include the understanding of thebackground of this speech, Obama’s presentation style, the content of this speech and thesummary of the difficult words in the speech. According to the problems occurred in theinterpretation process, systemic case analysis was made combined with the handling methodsof long sentences, passive sentences, the use of rhetoric and the words that are difficult totranslate. Finally, I summarized this interpretation task based on the case analysis.
