| This is a translation project report. The source text, which is selected from“tourism congestion management at natural and cultural sitesâ€, is published by theworld tourism organization, to recommend solutions for governing the tourismcongestions at natural and cultural sites, and to provide a guide to those who needsolve the congestion problem.Based on Hans J. Vermeer’s Skopos theory, this report explores and analyzesproblems encountered in the process of translating the source text, and summarizes upthe translating skills which serve as a reference for translations alike.Meanwhile, underthe guidance of “Skopos theoryâ€, the writer aims to achieve the best effect ofconveying information, to play a positive role in standardizing the tourismmanagement on the natural and cultural sites and promoting the development of thetourism in China.This translation repot is divided into four parts. The first part is theintroduction to the task, including its background, characteristics and significance.Chapter2is about the process of translation, and the information about the source text.In Chapter3the author emphasizes the difficulties and translation methods applied,including alternation, amplification, conversion etc,as well as the translation strategiesused by the author. Chapter4is the summary, including problems to be resolved andthe author reflection on the task. |
