Dramatic progress has been made in development and utilization of marineliving resources. Meanwhile, human activities have given rise to very seriousecological problems, for example, marine environment pollution and depletion ofmarine resources. Therefore, it is imperative for human beings to take these problemsseriously and solve them, so as to protect the marine environment and guarantee thesustainability of marine living resources, and thus in the whole globe. EconomicManagement of Marine Living Resources: A Practical Introduction, written by DavidWhitmarsh, is a sea-related economic management work. From the perspective ofeconomics, it probes into questions in management and protection of marine livingresources and presents relevant strategies to them, so as to promote the sustainable useof marine living resources.
