This is a translation project report. The original work Tell Me About in English is one of the teenagers’popular science series, published by the Chancellor Press. Teenagers are now at the golden age of learning, andgood popular science books can give them chances to accumulate the extensive extra-curricular knowledge, butalso inspire their imagination, exploratory and intellectual curiosities. As a useful supplement and guidance tothe original works, in recent years, a large number of foreign popular science works have been translated andintroduced in China, but most of them may not meet the needs of young readers and becoming the best sellingbooks. Some translators and authors have overlooked the adolescent characteristics and haven’t put theacceptability of translation into consideration. In translation, the features of the original books couldn’t bepreserved fully. So it is becoming more and more important to make a thorough study on the translatingtheories and strategies in the English-Chinese translation of popular science texts for teenagers. The versions willplay a positive role in the dissemination of scientific knowledge. On the basis of the first five parts of the English-Chinese translation work—Tell Me About, the reportconducts a preliminary study on the translation strategies of popular science text for teenagers under theguidance of Adaptation Theory. The translation project report consists of seven parts.
