| Soft news refers to the news with rich affection and deep human touch, and it isoften in a humorous and funny style, and is easy to stimulate the addresseessensorially and arouse their interest in reading it, such as social news, sports news, andtidbits, etc. When being read, soft news will have an immediate effect on the addressee.So, how to keep the “softness” of soft news while doing E-C translation is one of thekey issues for a translator to consider. This thesis takes soft news from the GlobalTimes as the research object, the Skopos Theory as the theoretical support andqualitative study as the major research methodology to carry out an analysis of softnews trans-editing, trying to summarize a comparatively new and independenttrans-editing method for E-C trans-editing and a general reporting paradigm for thetarget-text of soft news in Chinese. Through the research process, the author concludesthat the “Five-stage” method and the Mixed Form of Inverted Pyramid and PyramidStyles plus short paragraphs can be used as a general reporting paradigm for thetarget-text of soft news in Chinese. |
