On C-E Translation Of Science And Technology Texts Under The Concept Of Project Management

As the development of globalization of world economy, the internationalcommunication in science and technology fields between China and other countries ofthe world are growing very fast, resulting in the great demand for high quality C-Etranslation of scientific and technological texts. The current translation reality in China,however, is not very desirable and there are many serious problems in scientific andtechnological translation, especially its C-E translation, which hinder China’sinternational exchange and cooperation with other countries, such as, poor quality ofthe translation, low efficiency of translation etc. which can not keep pace with thecurrent need for sci-technical translation.The present thesis intends to examine the C-E sci-technical translation under theconcept of the project management. Based on the current researches and the analysisof the main features of the sci-technical text and the implementation of the projectmanagement in the C-E translation of the annual report of the Institute of ProcessEngineering of Academy of Chinese Sciences, the author of the thesis believes that theC-E translation of sci-technical texts must be conducted under the concept of the guideof project management in order to improve the quality and efficiency of the C-Etranslation of sci-technical texts. In the end of the thesis, the enlightenment of theapplication of the project management on sci-technical translation is discussed, hopingthat it will benefit the further studies on the C-E translation of sci-technical texts.
