| This report is written as a conclusion of management process of the Journal of Integrative Environmental Sciences translation project that the author participated in.The four-month project involves English to Chinese translation of 30 academic papers in the research field of ecology of this journal with almost 150,000 English words.A new project management process model was created based on existing models and applied to this translation project.The report firstly introduces typical models of project management and translation project management,and also the author's new-created process model.Then,the actual management process of this translation project is described in detail,involving four processes of project initiating,planning,executing and closing.Project evaluation in this report focuses on the management process of this project and referenced process model,concludes strengths and weaknesses and puts forward improvement suggestions,so as to optimize the management process model.The optimized model further specifies the management process and adds repair mechanism,in order to better guide the translation project management.Besides,the report evaluates the performance of translators and project manager,and gives some advice and solutions for their problems.This report is an summary and evaluation of the translation project management practice,aiming at providing references for the management of future translation project. |
