An E-C Translation Project Management Report On Complete Guide To Camping And Wilderness Survival

This report is from a real English-Chinese translation project,named Complete Guide to Camping and Wilderness Survival E-C Project,which was entrusted by Zhengzhou Show1 Culture Company.The source text of this project is a kind of book on popular science,which has nearly 300 pages,and the total number of Chinese characters in the final Chinese translation is about 210,000.The translation project team consists of 13 postgraduate students majoring in Translation,who jointly completed this project in 4 months.In this report,based on her experience as a project group leader and translator,the author,participating in this project from beginning to end,studies the translation practice project from the perspective of translation project manager and translator.This report focuses on how to manage the project process successfully by the the theory of translation project management.The author reviews the specific management and implementation process of this translation project to make a detailed description and analysis of the pre-translation,translation and post-translation stages of the whole English-Chinese translation project from the four phases of project initiation,project planning,project executing and project closing.In addition,this report mainly puts forward solutions to the problems of text translating and difficulties in limited time and place from the aspects of time control and quality control in the process of project management.The author summarizes the gains and limitations in the end of this report,so as to provide references for the translations with the same type or similar texts and projects in the future.
