Translation Report For Residential Tenancy Act (British Columbia,Canada)

This report is a translation report on Residential Tenancy Act (British Columbia, Canada) and the original, enacted and issued by Legislative Assembly of British Columbia in2002, is a law regulating and stipulating everything about residential tenancy. This is a legal translation with its own characteristics. By analysing the process of the translation, this paper summaries the difficulties, experiences and lessons in the course of translation and explores the strategies in legal translation, especially in translation of residential tenancy.The report consists of5parts. The first part introduces the background and significances of this project. The second part makes a brief introduction of the main idea of the original and analyses the characteristics of it. The third part moves to the difficulties in term translation of Residential Tenancy Act and explores the translation strategies. The forth part discuses various types of complex sentences and their unique translation strategies. The last part states the experiences of the translation.
