As a report on English to Chinese simultaneous interpreting(E-C SI), this dissertation describes one SI task conducted by the author for the Microsoft media briefing live broadcast simultaneous interpreting in2013E3and analyzes the speech delivered by the Microsoft staff to discuss common difficulties of E-C SI as well as coping strategies and solutions.During the task description process, the report describes the key "pre-interpreting preparation" and divides it into three phases according to time order:early-phase pre-interpreting preparation, metaphase pre-interpreting preparation, late-phase pre-interpreting preparation and detailedly describes the author’s work content in each of the three phases.In the Theoretical Guidance&Case Studies, the report first describes the theoretical guidance of this E-C SI and the relevant interpreting strategies. Then, a series of typical cases are selected to be analyzed with this interpreting task from three perspectives:application of Strategy of simplification, application of linear translation, emergency handling with difficile vocabulary combined with the characteristics of media live broadcast interpreting.Through the task description and case analysis, it is found that the pre-interpreting preparation plays a vital role in the interpreting work. Moreover, the interpreters should realize the importance of lowering their interpreting expectation and advancing their stress tolerance, improve both their mental and physical comprehensive quality and resolve their tension in the media broadcast. Only in this way can the interpreters cope with the task better.
