In order to state explicitly the contents related with errors, the writer of thisbook---Keith Johnson employs many technical terms connected with foreign languagelearning and teaching. These technical terms appear very frequently and their translation isvery crucial in the whole translation practice. The reasons are as follows: firstly, twotechnical terms with almost the same meanings often appear in separated contexts, withexceptions in a few special contexts. How to translate the two terms is very important.Secondly, other technical terms are a major element in the author’s analysis of foreignlanguage learning and teaching. The translation theory of functional equivalence putforward by Nida guides the translation of these terms. The comprehensive analysis onmeanings of two technical terms with almost the same meanings can provide materials forfurther research on relevant terms.
