With the development of society and technology, more and more electronic products pour into people’s daily life. Compared with other electronic products, mobile phone has already become the most essential device to everyone today. And the manual, the accessory of mobile phone, also gradually into the public consciousness. That is because mobile phone manual is a style of higher practicability and commercial value, especial its unique features. Therefore, a translator not only does sufficient preparation by knowing the cultural and background of all kinds of mobile phone brands, but pay attention to the stylistic features of mobile phone manual during the process of translation.The author chooses two kinds of mobile phone brands NokiaN9and iPhone5as the material of the report. Moreover, three rules of skopos theory proposed by German functionalism translators are applicable to the translation as theoretical support. The author strives to find the best solutions for those difficulties and the analysis of the causes, which reflects the application of three rules of skopos theory in the translation of mobile phone manual.During translation, three difficult points influencing the manual translation are discovered, namely, comprehension and translation of mobile phone terms, appropriate and accurate wording in mobile phone manual, and grasp of style between formal and informal. Facing these problems, the author finds specific ways to solve them on the basis of the features of mobile phone manual and three rules of skopos theory. From two levels of language and culture, literal and liberal translation are adopted to meet the corresponding requirements; domestication and foreignization literal translation are applied to target language conforms to the custom and culture of target readership, and facilitate understand the target text while maintain unique culture of source language. In addition, when confronting large differences between source language and target language, the writer uses translation skills such as natural-flow translation and inverted translation in order to make the rendition complete and readable.
