Exam Design for Advanced Writing Course of Teaching Chinese as a ForeignLanguageThe essential goal of teaching Chinese as a foreign language is to foster languagelearners’ ability of using Chinese language skills. Comprehensive researches of foreignlinguistics scholars show a generally accepted view on Chinese language ability. To bespecific, in has generally accepted actual teaching Chinese as a foreign language,teachers generally conduct teachings of different capacities, focusing teaching on fourareas which respectively include listening, speaking, reading and writing. And in actualprocess of teaching Chinese as a foreign language, they accordingly design listening,speaking, reading and writing course of teaching Chinese as a foreign language.Based on the results of previous studies, the paper simply discuss the definition ofwriting ability and grade standards, as well as related research for aspect of writing test.It focuses on explain the impact of writing anxiety on second language acquisition andwhether the writing level of mother tongue will influence the level of Chinese writing asa second language. With emphasis on combining the previous two theoretical studies, itspecifically designs exams for medium and advanced writing course of teaching Chineseas a foreign language.Paper is divided into four parts:The first part introduces the definition standards and implementation status ofmedium and advanced writing ability of Chinese as a foreign language at home andabroad. Then it explores the status and related theoretical studies of writing test ofChinese as a foreign language;The second part focuses on the impact of writing anxiety on second languageacquisition and whether the writing level of mother tongue will influence the level ofChinese writing as a second language;The third part of this paper is mainly about specific exam design and operation formedium and advanced writing course of teaching Chinese as a foreign language.The fourth part draws a conclusion for the whole paper. In the process of designing and practically operating this paper, the author review and reflect based on lessonslearned, offering some reference value for the research and development of exam designfor medium and advanced writing course of teaching Chinese as a foreign language.The author wishes able to make her own contribution to the writing teachingassessment of teaching Chinese as a foreign language through this research and vision onexam design for medium and advanced writing course of teaching Chinese as a foreignlanguage.
