The translation project of Planning for Development Orientation (2013-2020) of Guangxi Electrical Polytechnic Institute belongs to translation of the planning text. Based on this, from the perspective of translation of the planning text, this report keeps an account of the fulfillment of this translation project in detail, and analyzes the translation methods employed in this process.First of all, this report summarizes the translation task from the aspects of text nature and pre-translation preparation. The whole process of translation, including translation strategy, style of translation, problems and solutions, as well as translation tools, is described thoroughly in Chapter Three. The following chapter comes to quality control. Chapter Five lists a series of typical cases, and analyzes the translation of four-character expression, no-subject sentence as well as parallelism. The experience gained from and the limitations existing in translation are summed up in the last chapter, expecting that they can serve as reference for future translation practices to a certain degree.Based on the thorough analysis of the source text, the author finds that it falls into the category of informative text in general. Therefore, with other translation methods supplemented, communicative translation should be employed to translate the source text to a large extent. This report keeps a record of the whole process of translation, hoping that it can provides certain references for translation of the same or similar types of texts, as well as serves as material for relevant translation studies.
