A Report On The Interpreting Of Foreign Minister Li Zhaoxing’s Press Conference In2007

With the deepening development of globalization and the increasing exchangesamong countries, the demand of qualified interpreters is also on the rise. In2007,Master of Translation and Interpreting (MTI) was approved by the State Council. Andit brings a rapid development of translation and interpretation.Liaoning University set up MTI in2011and attaches great importance to thismajor. In order to improve our interpreting ability, we hold a conference on the themeof Foreign Minister Li Zhaoxing’s press conference in2007with the support ofLiaoning University.This report is divided into four parts to give a full analysis of the interpreting.Firstly, this report gives a brief introduction to this project including the purposeand the general outline. The second part shows how I prepare before the pressconference. The preparation is made up of two parts: preparation for vocabulary andfor background knowledge. The third part expounds main details of the process ofinterpreting. It gives us a full analysis of the interpreting from three aspects:note-taking, psychological influence and the application of some interpretingprinciples. It’s also the most important part of this report which analyzes somedifficult words, sentences and some occasional problems. The last part is a summaryof gain and loss in the project and also gives some suggestions for improving myinterpreting ability. This report also shows some original and interpreted texts.
