The China-ASEAN Mining Cooperation Forum&Exhibition (CAMCF) has become an event of regional significance in merely four years. Upon its5th anniversary, in hopes of improving cooperation in the mining sector, the4th Liaison Officials’ Meeting was convened in Yangon, Myanmar, where forum-related issues were discussed, In this sense, the4th Liaison Officials’ Meeting was destined to provide important guidance for the future mining cooperation between China and ASEAN.For3consecutive years, the Liaison Officials’ Meeting adopted simultaneous interpreting and was held in Nanning. As for this meeting, consecutive interpreting was chosen instead and an overseas hotel was designated as the new venue for the first time ever. In addition, as a technical conference in the field of mining, it posed quite a challenge to the author, given that she independently completed the task and she was no expert of mining. For the purpose of post-interpretation analysis, the author recorded the meeting on her cell phone. In the format of interpreting report, the author examines different stages of conference interpreting, including task delegating, advance preparation, case studies, coping tactics and post-interpretation evaluation in hopes of contributing to the study and practice of fellow interpreters. Under the guidance of Gile’s "Effort Model of Consecutive Interpretation", the author attempts to strike a good balance between individual efforts in coping with unexpected deviation from written text by skipping, change of segments, or adding comments. With reference to the coping tactics offered in the works of Gile and Roderick Jones, the author endeavors to improve interpretive comprehension and reproduction in dealing with illogical, grammatically flawed and incomplete speech segments. In addition, in the light of Sperber&Wilson’s "Ostensive-Inferential Communication Mode", the author strives to understand speakers’ intended meaning and achieve the impact as intended by the speakers. Furthermore, the author conducts self-evaluation after the task was completed.
