Junior high school students are in a special period of life.Their personalitycharacteristics are the most distinct, self consciousness develop fastly. They will meetthe problems which caused by the instinct impulse;on the other hand, they will feeltroubled and contftsed when they face the new social demands and conflicts.Self-esteem and ability of coping outside pressure is particularly important for thestudents in this period.In this study,we will investigate the effects of parental reairng styles on mentalresilience, self esteem of middle school students from the most closely parents. Thisresearch revised our "Parental Bonding Instruments of junior high school scale" byusing literature method,interview method,questionnaire survey method and datastatistics method. Then we use the "Parental Bonding Instruments of junior highschool scale","youth Resilience Scale"(Hu Yueqin,Gan Yiqun,2008),"Rosenbergself esteem scale"(RSES) as research tools, a total of926junior high school studentsas subjects, draw the following conclusions:1."Care, excessive protection, independent,’,the three-dimensional structure ofparental reairng patterns is more in line with our junior high school students. In ourcountry, cold/refused in the parenting style is less than in other countires. Excessiveprotection and autonomy is not the same dimension bipolar relationship. According tothe autonomy and care dimension divided parenting style:care-independent,care-control, cold-independent, cold-control.2.The proportion of the difference of the four junior high school students’parents types was not signiifcant in different grades, gender,family type, whether theonly,but also by their parents education.3.The father will not change parenting style just because of their children sex,but they showed more protection on the non only children; and the mother will notchange their parenting style by children gender and number.4.Higher father education, higher degree of protection for children.But themother education for junior high school students is not signiifcantly different overprotection. There are signiifcant differences in parental over protection betweendifferent family types and grades. 5.The only child owe higher self-esteem and self-wotrh. The level of self-esteemof preliminary students is higher than the ifrst, second grade students. The levelself-esteem of both parents family students is higher than dear family students. Thefather and mother with the higher education,the child’s self-esteem level is lower,especially the education degree of mother with a greater impact.6.Girls’ dialectical attitude to adversity and optimism is better than boys’,andwhen girls meet with the diiffculties,they have more interpersonal to get help orexpress emotions. The only child’s dialectical attitude to to adversity and optimismis better than non only child,and they can control and adjustment mood swings andpessimistic better in trouble.7.The care-independent type of father and the care-control type of the motherhave great help to improve the child’s self-esteem level, and help improve the level ofmental toughness of children.Cold-control parents are the most unfavorable toimprove the child’s level of self-esteem and mental toughness. High self-esteem isbeneficial to students’ mental resilience.8.The more attentions children got from parents, the higher level of self-esteemof children, and this can improve the level of mental toughness of children. The moreprotections, expectations,freedom and disciplines children got from parents, thelower level of self-esteem of children,arid it’s not conducive to raising the level ofchild mental toughness.
