This is a translation report of Siemens T3000User Guide. Siemens T3000User Guide is the product manual for engineers and others users, of which the translator chooses the part of system management to discuss.The terminology and the complex sentences are the most important and difficult parts of the translation. In the aspect of vocabulary, a lot of terminology and professional words relating to electrical engineering are used. In the aspect of sentence, passive voice and attributive clauses,long sentences like nominalization are used. In order to get a more accurate and proper translation, the translator starts with the analysis of the text,defining its content and characteristics, and with the guidance of translation theory for EST,the translator studies the principle of the translation for EST.Then after looking into the dictionary and consulting relative engineers, the translator obtains some translation technique,such as:the passive voice can be changed into active voice;the attributive clauses can be changed into adjectives or single sentences according to different structure and focus of the sentence. For the long and difficult sentences,"two stages,seven steps" is used to split,reorganize the sentences for the purpose of sorting out the logic relations between sentences, thus, achieving a more accurate and authentic translation.
