Bhabah is very well known in the field of the European and American literary theory criticism and his name is frequently mentioned by other people. His representative work The Location of Culture collects his important papers that he wrote during the middle of1980s to1990s. These papers comprehensively and systematically reflect Bhabha’s postcolonial criticism thoughts. The reporter’s report is based on the translating of "Interrogating identity", the second chapter of The Location of Culture. The report contains five parts. In the first chapter, the reporter gives a brief introduction to the author and the contents of the translating practice; in the second chapter, the reporter expounds the purpose and the significance of the translation of the practice; in the third chapter, the reporter introduces the translation theory taken in the translating; in the third chapter, the reporter gives a detailed analysis of the translation strategies; finally, the reporter summarizes the translation experience. The reporter completes the translation under the guidance of Adaptation theory. Under the guidance of Adaptation theory, the reporter chooses to use translation methods, i.e., word conversion, amplification, annotation and logical conversion to guide her translating for the purpose of providing the reader with a much more acceptable translated version and meanwhile hoping that her translation could be helpful of the domestic studies of postcolonial theory and criticism.
