This study explores the present situation of world music education research based on theinternational view, selecting internationally influential world music education conferencepapers as the research content. Through the analysis of the30th world music educationconference papers, we learn about the characteristics and hot topics of world wide musiceducation research and discover the current status of world music education and the trend ofmusic education development. At the same time,take a glance at the status of development ofmusic education in different regions and under various cultures.Thus provide valuablereference opinions and suggestions for our music education research and the development ofmusic education.The aim of this study is to solve the following problems based on the analysis anddiscussion of the30th world music education conference papers:1.What is the current statusof music education research?2. What are the hot topics of music education research?3. Whatinspirations does international music education research have on our music educationresearch?The results show that:1. The international music education research has the characteristics of comprehensiveresearch content, multi-exploration of research direction, concreteness of researchperspectives and the rigorous scientific research method.2. The hotspots of the international music education research focus on the study of musiccurriculum and teaching.3. The international music education research put forward challenges to our musiceducation research.Through learning the present situation of the international musiceducation, our musicians should focus on the international research trends, expandmulti-orientation of research project, concentrate on concrete research perspectivesand strengthen the scientific research method in the music education research.4. Our music education should perfect evaluation system, focus on curriculuminnovation, encourage composing and creative teaching, and pay attention to cultivateinterest of music instruments in the music curriculum and teaching.
