This report is based on the consecutive interpreting of the Lecture on Characteristics and Position of Zhuang Culture lectured by Professor Huang Nanjin from Liberal Arts College of Guangxi University. The lecture is for the Estonian principal delegation. As the interpretation falls into the category of translation for publicity, the report analyzes the project from the point of view of interpretation for publicity. The report covers three stages of the lecture interpreting:preparation stage, interpreting stage and self-evaluation stage. It explores interpretation for publicity in several aspects, including pre-analysis, interpreting methods, style, tools etc.. This report also contains a "Case Studies" section, in which cases of typical interpreting situations are selected and categorized into five groups:long sentences, culture-loaded words, impromptu speeches, songs and video clips, and incidents. Combined with relevant theories, each case is analyzed separately. The success and disadvantages of the lecture interpreting are also analyzed. The version of live interpreting is provided in this report as reference. This report records the whole process of consecutive interpreting of Lecture on Characteristics and Position of Zhuang Culture. Consequently, the author puts forward that the priority of interpretation for publicity should be the audience’s acceptability, and its purpose of publicizing the Chinese culture should also be taken into full consideration. It is hoped that this report offers some referential value to other interpreters when interpreting similar texts, and provides feasible precedents for interpretation for publicity with the background of Guangxi going global.
